Gadkari flaunts his co-op connection

NITIN GADKARIUnion Minister Nitin Gadkari flaunted his cooperative connection last week before a Delhi court in connection with a criminal defamation case he had filed against the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

While replying to Kejriwal’s counsel, Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, told the court that he was not a businessman and has been associated with cooperative initiatives and charitable trusts.

Talking of deep roots of cooperative movement in the state of Maharashtra he said that it is incorrect to suggest that he is a businessman. “ In Maharashtra, there are lots of co-operative initiatives and I have been associated with cooperative institutions.”

The court was also irked with the heated exchange of words among the advocates of the two sides Gadkari and Kejriwal.

The hearing was inconclusive and would continue on May 16.
