I am in Delhi, residing in CGHS society.  I want to contest for office bearer post but my wife is the legal owner of the flat .

1) Can husband contest election just by becoming associate member?

2) What is the procedure and maximum time allotted to existing bearers to accept or reject such request? On what legal grounds this can be rejected?

I C Naik

Section 11 of THE DELHI CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT 2003 Provides that

Rule 54 of THE DELHI CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES RULES 2007 PROVIDES LIST OF Disqualifications for membership of committee and its Sub-Clause (g) reads “he incurs any other disqualification laid down in the bye-laws of the co-operative society”
