U/Sec.29(F) of Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act 1959, Election of President, Chairperson, Vice President or Vice Chairman, etc., are to be conducted U/Sec.29 (F) of Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act 1959 R/W. Rule 14-AG of Karnataka Cooperative Rules 1960. But on perusal of both these section and Rule, there is no mention with regard to the quorum and it seems that the above provisions of law are silent with regard to requirement of quorum for conducting office bearers election. Hence, it is requested to clarify whether the quorum is necessary to conduct office bearers’ election or not.

QUORUM is fixed under Bye laws for every meeting of the managing committee and no business can be conducted without quorum being present. Election of office bearers is an agenda of the Committee meeting.
