I am from Panvel, Navi Mumbai having flat in a co-operative society on first floor. At the ground floor, there is a shop which is given on rent by the owner to run the flour mill. There is lot of flour dust coming to my flat and creating health problem. There is no extraction system fixed in the shop so that the flour dust will go outside. This dust problem is creating to us as well as our kids. Total 3 flats on first floor is getting affected because of this. When we approached the shop owner he is threatening us to sell the flat or keep quite. He says he has contacts with big peoples.

Sir can you please guide us how to handle this. How to approach the health dept. here in new Mumbai to make complaint about this? There must be minimum norms for setting up the flour mill in society shops, where can I get those?

I C Naik

Panvel City Municipal Corporation is te Authority to allow occupancy of the shop in housing society to run commercial business. File an RTI is this shop owner had taken permission to run a floor mill and if there any conditions prescribed. RTI application should be addressed to Public Information Officer of the Panvel City Municipal Corporation.
