Query of Nathaniel Prakash

I am the bonafide member of the CHS in Borivli(w) , Mumbai.and my flats are on my name , two flats joined together and both the flats are on my name and the wife is the nominee for both flats, Now I want my wife to be  made as Associated Member for the flats, could you please help to do the needful for the same.

Although I approached verbaly to the Managing Committee (Secretary) and I am told by him that now there is no provision as per the latest amendment I am sure that reply is fake.My wife and children should not be harrased by so called half knowledge committee members when the time comes.

Please help me to know the laws/by-laws.

I  C Naik

As per section 24(2) of MCS Act ASSOCIATE MEMBER can have powers of main member as specified in the registered Bye laws (Many Committees mistakenly believe that 2014 Model Bye laws are laws for their CHS).They are not relevant to those CHSs which register them substituting their registered Bye laws. So sit with the Secretary and find out from bye laws how you can register a person as ASSOCIATE. If still problem, do write to me.
