I am from Maharashtra, and have entered into a Lease & License agreement. Now the owner has informed me that the society requires Rs. 1000 as “Shifting Charges”. This has been approved in GBM of the society. I want to ask whether the society is justified in demanding such money. Are there any specific legal provisions/case-laws deeming such practise illegal? Please reply soon.
