Query from Manish Chambers (MANCH)

We have a query regarding the possibility of appointing  Functional Directors? We are located in Mumbai and currently had elections for the first time.

Ours is 73 Member commercial society with further 21 shop which are owned but the outgoing committee chose not to make us Members over disputed water tax for temporary connection, which is builder’s liability.

The foll. is excerpt from an article we read on net under your by line…

It appears on going through the last proviso about functional directors [ other than experts] their appointment is not mandatory but if appointed they are additional members of the board/committee with all voting rights including a right to be elected office bearer.

As regards the above we would like to understand better that can these directors be any other Member from the same society and then to be inducted in the Managing committee or they are from the elected members only?

Can you kindly give us more info on this?

Functional director is an employee director and can neither  vote in election of office bearers nor be voted in to. Rest he like other board members  but not a member of the Society.
