You are a main member. First of all you should buy a copy of your Society Bye Laws from Secretary certified by him as they are the registered bye laws in force. You will have to pay zeroxing charges. Alternatively you can take inspection free fitting in the Office with prior appointment strictly with in Notified Office Hours.

What you have to find out is how to make your wife an Associate Member and whether Associate Member can be awarded by you your right of becoming a member of the Committee. If your Society  bye Laws Like Model 1984,2001,2009 1nd 2014) restricts the right to Associate Member  to participating in a general body meeting in the absence of main member, you will have to request the Secretary to move an amendment to bye law so as to allow you to transfer your right to your wife.
