Query from H S Singh

Secretary of of our CGHS doesn’t feel happy about being part of discussion on society related issues by emails. Secretary wants his email id to be removed from the list of email IDs of all members. In an era of electronic communications is he doing the right thing under Privacy Act  and relevant Cooperative Societies Act 1984 of Haryana .

Coop Act is old so one can understand missing on the problem I am referring to. Even Privacy Act seems to be silent on it.

Please do advise what to do and how to sort out its legality.

Communications of the Society matters have yet not been made obligatory through electronic media. Moreover the Society can have its on account and separate ID and Secretary may stop receiving mails and may even inform the members not  to send to him any mail using that ID and instead provide the members with Society ID. He can also inform the mmbers that after appointed day he will not be accessing mails from members. There is no point in getting in to legal niceties,  not worth.
