Query from Ashok V Vaze

I have few queries about min. quorum required to pass a proposal in above meetings.

1. AGM is generally called before30th Septfor approval of Annual report, Auditors report and appointment of auditors for next year.

From bye laws it appears that AGM can be conducted even if 2+ members are present (after adjournment for 1/2 hr from stipulated time of meeting) Please clarify.

AGM also allows to take any other matters after concluding Main business as above.

It is generally observed that 1st two items take long time and members disperse there after(leave the meeting)and very few members are present to discuss more proposals and it may so happen that important proposals are passed by few(5/6)members, which is undesirable/unfortunate.

Please clarify whether min. quorum will be applicable for approval of each such proposals–some time includes extra financial burden by way of additional contribution.

2. SGM-Spl, General body meeting.

Is there any min. quorum requirement (50% or 2/3 members) for these meetings. Many times SGM is called for proposals requiring additional monetary contribution from members

After adjournment meeting resumes with members present which should be no less than 2. These numbers should be there till end of the meeting. This is valid for special General Body Meeting also except that Members’ Requisitioned meeting has to be declared ended if there is no quorum at time fixed for the meeting.
