Would you kindly inform me what is the tenure of a Multiple Co-operative  Bank?  If the law is for 5 years, then can a Board elected for three years (election held in Nov. 2017), continue for five years since the law is for five years ?.

In any view I am eagerly to have your valued reply, Sir.

If you meant the Tenure of the Board of a Multiple Co-operative Bank it is provided in the Supreme Court of India amended vide 97th Constitutional Amendment, in these words ;

Article 243ZJ(2) The term of office of elected members of the board and its office bearers shall be five years from the date of election and the term of office bearers shall be coterminous with the term of the board:

97th Constitutional Amendment became effective for States with effect from 14 2 2013.

of office of elected members of

Any Board elected before or after 97th Constitutional Amendment came in to force has a tenure of 5 years. A Board of cooperative society elected on any date after 14 2 2013 is 5 years irrespective of any tenure provided in any Act, Rule or Government Notification or in any other manner. The reason is Constitutional Provision supersedes  any contradictory provision.
