Installation of CCTV by individual

Muhammed S Khan

I am a member of a society in Pune, I have purchased this flat recently, the society is about 10 years old now.

The problems I am facing is, I try to suggest or do anything for myself there is a lot of non co-operation from the other members of the society.

I had proposed to the society last year to come forward for installation of solar water heater and cctv for everyone, but this was put on hold and later they disapproved, how so ever the secretary gave a verbal permission to go ahead as others were not satisfied with the idea.

I installed the Solar system for my flat and a cctv for the front door and and my covered car park ( the reason for the car park because there were damages previously to the car in the parking and none had idea about it ). Soon after the installation I have received notice from the committee to remove all the installations.

The reason given to remove the CCTV is that I members feel insecure, and the Solar water heater is taking too much of the common terrace area.

Both the suggestions you made are forward looking. The Society seems to have a majority of cautious and ‘stay-put’ kind of members. It will take too long to convert them. If you are otherwise happy being there, you will have to slowly start building up a rappo with like minded people.

You can raise in General Meeting and see if there are like minded people. As of today both the installations do require prior permission of the Committee. And members have to follow the instructions. The reasons are immaterial for asking to remove. Strong reasons must be advanced to give permission so that others follow.
