The Haryana Cooperative Societies Act 1984 is the law relating to cooperative societies WHERE AS THE HARYANA REGISTRATION AND REGULATION OF SOCIETIES ACT, 2012 is an Act to consolidate the law relating to the registration and regulation of Societies in the State of Haryana, promoting art, fine arts, charity, craft, culture, education, literature, philosophy, political education, religion, sports, science, any public or charitable purpose and for matters connected therewith incidental thereto.
1.Act of 2012 applies to societies including cooperative housing societies.
2. A society which has its object of the promotion of the economic interests of its members in accordance with cooperative principles can be registered under Act of 1984 as cooperative society.
Physical/Geographic location of a Society within the State of Haryana is not the criterion for choosing an Act for registration.
