Case of non-payment after maturity

Perundurai Sankaran

I am currently working as an agent for one the big company (Sahara credit co-operative society). Now I want to quit. But the company is not paying maturity to the members introduced by me on time as specified in the Pass Book provided by the co-operative. Please suggest what action a member can take.

I C Naik

1.This is a dispute between member and cooperative society and is concerning the business of the Society.

2.It can also be considered as deficiency in service as cooperative society is a service provider to its members

3.It is also a breach of contract and is a civil wrong

Three different places are available to agitate.

1.Co-operative Court

2.Consumer protection forum

3.City civil court

Write to the Registrar about it before initiating any proceeding and go ahead after two months have passed thereafter and the Registrar did nothing about it. If your clients are lucky the Registrar may intervene to resolve matter and not allow it to become a court matter, as that is his duty also.
