As you are aware, BMC has revised the property tax with effect from 1st April 2015.

Previously, we have been paying higher property tax every year.

So is this change effective only from 1st April 2015 or are we eligible for a refund of the excess property tax collected from us by the BMC before 1 April 2015 ?

Please advise.

I C Naik

The rates are normally revised for a future date. Do not expect any refyund. Some times there are demands of the past.

I am staying at BAdlapur Dist Thane, Maharashtra State, my CHSL had raised bill for Oct-15, Nov-15 and Dec-15 received on 13th Dec 2015 asking me to pay before 20th Oct, 15th Nov & 15th DEc 2015, I had already paid on 15th DEc 2015 all bills, even though my soc is charging me Interest on these payments considering default from 20th /Oct 2015. Interest charged is compound. As Per byelaw No. 70 & 72 it is not possible to charge me interest as the bills were received late.
