The year 2020-21 was rather mixed for the cooperative sector. While the sector had some remarkable achievements, it lost many of its notables to Covid-19.
IFFCO Chairman BS Nakai, Kribhco’s former Chairman V R Patel, Uttarakhand Veteran Cooperator Pramod Kumar Singh, IFFCO’s former Director of Cooperative Relations, Dr. G N Saxena, Sahakar Bharati Media Cell Head Laxmi Narayan Gupta, and many others succumbed to the Wuhan Virus.
Their roles in strengthening the cooperative sector and empowering the farmers of the country cannot be underestimated. They were deeply involved in activities related to the cooperative movement.
If Nakai is credited with his contribution to IFFCO’s Nano Urea then Pramod Kumar Singh is remembered for giving the sprawling building to Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation.
