In a significant development in the Yashwant Cooperative Bank scam, aggrieved depositors and borrowers from Phaltan met BJP MP Medha Kulkarni recently in Karad and submitted a memorandum demanding strict action against those responsible for the large-scale financial fraud.
During the meeting, Kulkarni engaged in a detailed conversation with the victims and listened to their grievances.
The news was shared by Kulkarni through her social media posts. She wrote, “As per preliminary estimates, the scam is believed to involve financial irregularities amounting to around Rs 150 crore.”
She further added, “The victims alleged that former office-bearers of the bank, including the ex-chairman and his associates, fraudulently availed loans under the names of unsuspecting borrowers and misappropriated depositors’ funds through unethical financial practices.”
On the occasion, the victims made a strong plea for justice and demanded accountability for those involved in the scam.
Responding to their concerns, Kulkarni assured them of her full support. “I am committed to ensuring that the affected depositors and borrowers receive justice and that the guilty are held accountable,” she stated.
