As part of the nationwide celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives, the Ministry of Cooperation is organizing a week-long series of events from July 1 to 6, 2025. The opening event on July 1 will feature the Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, as the Chief Guest.
The event, a national conference titled “PACS and Emerging Technology”, will be held at the PHD Convention Hall, Siri Institutional Area, New Delhi, beginning at 9:50 AM. It will focus on the transformative potential of emerging technologies in strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
The conference will bring together over 300 participants, including senior officials from the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and the Department of Food and Public Distribution (GoI), Principal Secretaries and Registrars of Cooperative Societies from all States and UTs, as well as representatives from NCDC, NAFED, NFDB, and NDDB. The event will also feature speakers from agri-tech startups, academia, and student communities.
Organized in collaboration with the Co-op Task Force of PHD Chamber of Commerce, the workshop aims to foster dialogue on modernizing PACS using digital platforms, data analytics, and financial technologies.
Vinit Nahata, Chair of the Task Force, noted, “The workshop will be a convergence point for stakeholders to chart a roadmap for tech-enabled PACS capable of delivering better services and ensuring inclusive growth in the rural economy.”
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader vision to revamp PACS as multi-service centers and enhance their role in rural development under the ongoing national cooperative reform agenda.
