Karnataka Progressive Cooperatives Forum in collaboration with Sri Thyagaraja Cooperative Bank Ltd. organized a workshop and interactive session on the National Cooperative Policy 2025 last week.

The event, held at the premises of Sri Thyagaraja Cooperative Bank, was inaugurated in the presence of several distinguished dignitaries. Forum President Basavegowda, Bank President Sri M.R. Venkatesh, and Forum Secretary Shashidhar L.E. presided over the inaugural session.

Eminent cooperative leaders including Dr. Guruswamy, Sri Nagarajayya, Sri Ashwatthayya, and Sri Bhookanth, Director of the Apex Federation, also graced the occasion.

The workshop focused on the implications of the newly launched National Cooperative Policy 2025 and its roadmap for strengthening the cooperative sector across the country. Speakers highlighted the importance of the policy in empowering cooperatives, enhancing governance, and ensuring financial inclusion at the grassroots.

Discussions also centered around the challenges faced by cooperative institutions in the current economic environment and the opportunities for innovation and growth under the new framework.

Directors from various Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Cooperative Societies across Bengaluru participated actively, sharing their views and engaging in deliberations.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a call for greater collaboration among cooperatives to achieve sustainable development.
