A one-day workshop aimed at strengthening 24 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and cooperatives was held in Gumla (Jharkhand) under the joint aegis of the district administration, JSLPS, NABARD and PRADAN.
The workshop focused on strengthening these institutions, increasing shareholder participation, ensuring effective implementation of business plans, and linking them with government schemes. Key discussions covered FPO operations, credit access, equity grant procedures, institutional management, and financial strengthening.
Participants shared their experiences and stressed the need for better collaboration, stronger market linkages, and a business-oriented approach to enhance farmers’ income.
Senior officials highlighted the importance of banking support, cooperative laws, and institutional capacity building.
At the end of the programme, nine top-performing FPOs were felicitated with certificates.
