WOCCU elevates Swoboda to VP of Global Events

World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has promoted Christi Swoboda, CMP, to Vice President of Meetings and Events, recognizing her decade-long leadership within the organization. Swoboda, who joined WOCCU in 2014 and most recently served as Director of International Meetings and Events, will now guide the strategic direction and global expansion of its meetings portfolio, including the flagship World Credit Union Conference.

In her new role, she will oversee innovation, partnerships and operational excellence across WOCCU’s international forums, strengthening its role as a global convenor of the credit union movement. Swoboda has played a pivotal role in elevating the annual conference into a premier four-day global gathering featuring high-level sessions, breakout discussions, networking forums and industry exhibitions.

She also led the launch of WOCCU’s virtual event platform in 2020, expanding global access to education and collaboration. CEO Paul Treinen praised her vision and commitment, noting her leadership will further enhance value for the worldwide credit union community.
