When BJP didn’t come to the rescue of Dabas

Ashok Dabas who always toed the party line and made sacrifices on a number of occasions in the interest of the Party, has been left high and dry when it came to co-opting GC members at the NCUI.

While Arun Tomar, a Madhya Pradesh co-operator who is also said to be related to Union Minister Narender Singh Tomar was co-opted along with Vishal Singh, nobody talked of Ashok Dabas.

Dabas, whose election petition on the reorganization of constituencies held up the NCUI election process, relented when the Ministry prevailed on him. But when it comes to helping him, BJP bigwigs look sideways, say his associates adding the Congress Party is much better when it comes to supporting each other.

Earlier, Dabas had also withdrawn a case against the candidature of Chandra Pal Singh for the sake of unity at NCUI. But he got nothing in return, his friends add.

Dabas has the distinction of fighting the highest number of times at the NCUI elections. He can be called a torch-bearer of democracy in cooperatives, said his friends.

It bears recall that Dabas lost by just one vote in the NCUI elections held on Monday.
