West Bengal hosts Co-op Congress in Kolkata

The 13th State Level Co-operative Congress took place at the prestigious Biswa Bangla Convention Center on January 18 and 19. The event witnessed the presence of Pradeep Mazumder, MIC of Cooperation and the Panchayats & Rural Development department, who inaugurated the proceedings, reports Millennium Post.

Former Cooperation minister Jyotirmoy Kar graced the occasion as the chief guest, adding to the significance of the event. Swarna Kamal Saha, MLA and Chairman of State Cooperative Union, presided over the function, ensuring a seamless flow of discussions and activities.

The event attracted various prominent figures, including Asis Chakraborty, Chairman of West Bengal State Cooperative Housing Federation, Additional Chief Secretary Krishna Gupta, R C S Niranjan Kumar, Director of National Cooperative Union Ritesh Dey, Mainul Hasan, Special Officer of Webscard Bank, and Sangeeta Sadhu, Chief Executive Officer of the state co-operative union.

Highlighting the participatory nature of the congress, nearly 200 delegates from all over Bengal engaged in a group discussion. Fourteen groups, each comprising ten members, actively participated, leading to the recognition of the first, second, and third-place groups with well-deserved awards.

The 13th State Level Co-operative Congress not only served as a platform for insightful discussions but also celebrated the collaborative efforts of co-operatives across the region, fostering a spirit of unity and shared objectives.
