Weighing bridge at Coimbatore in memory of Nakai

In remembrance of Late Sardar Balvinder Singh Nakai, IFFCO has set up a 60MT fully electronic weighing bridge at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

It has been installed at the Naraseepuram Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society and virtually inaugurated by its MD Dr. U S Awasthi in the presence of IFFCO director Ovr Ramachandran, who is based in Coimbatore.

It is said the local farmers are forced to travel a long distance because there are no sale weighing options in their area. This will help the farmers overcome this problem.

Sharing the news through the Twitter wall, the IFFCO MD wrote, It was a pleasure to inaugurate the dedication of 60 MT weighing bridge by Naraseepuram Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society, Coimbatore in remembrance of Late Sardar Balavinder Singh Nakai Ji, Former Chairman of #IFFCO. Sh. @OVRCHANDRAN , Director IFFCO was also present”.

With a population of around 9000 and almost all families depend on agriculture as the main source of income. Coconut, onion, banana are cultivated and cattle rearing is a livelihood resource, informed Ramachandran.
