WB: When co-op helps cement ties between arch rivals

In a quirk of events the two arch rivals-BJP & CPM joined hands to defeat TMC candidate during a co-op election in the state of West Bengal.

Media reports say the TMC was defeated in a cooperative election at Nandakumar of Purba Medinipur district in West Bengal.

Interestingly, the party lost to a coalition panel comprising the local CPI (M) and the BJP.

The elections to the Nandakumar-Baharampur Cooperative Agriculture Credit Society were held on Sunday.

Sixty-three seats were up for grabs. The West Bengal Samobai Bachao Committee won all the seats.
