WB trains Co-op Leaders in Smart Classrooms

The West Bengal Co-operation Department has launched a training program for newly elected co-operative society members, focusing on financial discipline through smart classrooms, media reports say.

Of the state’s 4700 agricultural development societies, 2540 recently held board elections.

Training is being conducted by the West Bengal State Co-operative Union at seven centres across the state, with Bardhaman set to introduce smart classrooms this month.

Chairpersons and board members are being trained in audits, tax filing, and co-operative laws to enhance transparency and accountability in rural finance, where these societies play a vital economic role.
