Business Today reports West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra said the cooperation department has set up customer service points (CSPs) to encourage people into doing transactions like RTGS and NEFT to transfer their money.
Mitra claimed the cooperative banks have disbursed loans worth Rs 36,000 crore in the last few years in the state. The minister says the state government will help cooperative banks with space to cover unbanked areas through their branches.
Speaking at the ‘Samabay Mela, the minister called for strengthening the cooperative movement in the state.
