National Consumer Cooperative Federation (NCCF) Chairman Vishal Singh met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday to discuss key issues related to the cooperative sector and farmers’ welfare.
Vishal Singh was accompanied by Ramesh Chandra Chaubey, Virendra Singh, and other senior cooperative leaders. During the meeting, the delegation sought the Union Minister’s guidance and support on matters concerning farmers and cooperative institutions in the state.
The delegation highlighted the need to enhance the allocation of fertilizers and manure to BISCOMAUN, increase paddy procurement targets, and revise procurement rates under the paddy procurement mechanism. Various challenges being faced by cooperative societies in Bihar were also brought to the Minister’s attention.
Amit Shah gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised, reviewed the functioning of NCCF, and took note of the operational challenges being faced by the federation. He assured the delegation of prompt and appropriate action on the demands and directed concerned officials to initiate necessary steps at the earliest.
