Veteran RSS Pracharak Sri R Venugopa(95) died Wednesday night. Venugopa is credited with establishing Sahakar Bharati in Kerala and was also in-charge of the State chapter of the co-op body.
Paying tributes to Shri R Venugopa, one of the founding members of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe wrote “Venuji was our Prabhari for a long time in Kerala. It was at his instance, we filed a case in Court, and forced CoOp Dept to register a CoOp Societies in the state”.
“We offer respectful pranams to his memory, we will miss him. Om Shantii!”, added Marathe.
He was cremated on Thursday at Ernakulam.
Besides being a co-operator, Shri Venu also edited a weekly named “Kesari”. He was also a former working President of BMS and he held several important public positions in his glorious career.
