In a move aimed at bolstering cooperative governance in Odisha, the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) inaugurated two capacity-building programs on June 2, 2025.
The programs are designed to empower cooperative institutions through enhanced governance, accountability, and professional skill development.
The training initiatives bring together key stakeholders, including Board of Directors and Secretaries of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Large-sized Adivasi Multi-Purpose Societies (LAMPS) from Odisha.
In addition, officers from the Directorate of Cooperative Audit under the Cooperation Department, Government of Odisha, are also participating.
Scheduled to run from June 2 to June 6, 2025, the programs aim to create a shared platform for knowledge exchange and capacity enhancement. By focusing on leadership, transparency, and regulatory compliance, the initiative underscores VAMNICOM’s commitment to building a robust and professionally managed cooperative ecosystem in the state.
With the theme “Empowering Cooperatives, Enriching Governance,” the inaugural ceremony marked a significant step towards strengthening grassroots institutions that play a vital role in rural development and inclusive growth.
