VAMNICOM celebrates Coop Week with gusto

The prestigious Co-operative Training Institute Vamnicom celebrated the 65th All India Cooperative Week at its headquarters in Pune. The Chief Guest of the programme was Cap. Udagi Nikam, Chairman of Col. R.D. Nikam Sainik Sahakari Bank, Satara.

The garlanding of statue of Shri Vaikunth Mehta was done by Chief Guest along with Director VAMNICOM Dr. K.K. Tripathy and faculties and staff. The program started with the hoisting of cooperative flag. Lamp lightning was done to give tribute to Goddess Saraswati. A bouquet and a memento was presented tO the Chief Guest.

Inspirational cooperative messages of prominent leaders were read by PGDBM and DCBM students. The program proceeded by a welcome address given by Dr. D.V.Deshpande, Professor, HOC- MDP.  He also briefed about different activities to be held during the cooperative week at VAMNICOM, Pune.

Dr. K.K Tripathy Director addressed the audience and focused on role of cooperatives in the development of rural economy. Chief Guest Capt Nikam, who served 10 years in army and now spends his time working for ex-servicemen and war widows, expressed his thoughts on the importance of self-help groups and cooperatives.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Shri S.Y. Deshpande, Registrar, VAMNICOM.
