Uttarakhand has announced a major initiative in the cooperative sector through a five-year agreement with the country’s first Tribhuvan Cooperative University.
Under the partnership, a Project Management Unit (PMU) will be established in the state to strengthen innovation, research and institutional development in the cooperative sector.
The initiative is expected to provide technical and managerial support for cooperative institutions, promote capacity building and encourage research-driven reforms. Officials said the collaboration marks a significant step toward modernising the cooperative ecosystem in Uttarakhand and aligns with the broader vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
The state government believes the PMU will help create a stronger institutional framework for cooperatives and open new opportunities for sustainable growth and development across the sector.
