At the Cooperative Fair in Haldwani, held during the International Year of Cooperatives-2025, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted major initiatives to strengthen Uttarakhand’s cooperative ecosystem, media reports say.
He said the seven-day event, themed Tourism Development Through Cooperatives, showcases products of cooperative societies, SHGs, and farmers. Dhami noted that all 671 cooperative societies are now digitised, 640 operate as Common Service Centres, and over 3,800 societies are listed on the National Cooperative Database.
He added that since 2023, the state has formed hundreds of new PACS, dairy and fisheries cooperatives, expanded interest-free loans, and boosted women’s empowerment through SHGs.
