The pioneer reports while taking a review meeting of the cooperative dept at the Vidhan Sabha, Uttarakhand’s cooperative minister Dhan Singh Rawat said cooperatives could bring about great changes in the countryside.
The minister assured that the elections of cooperative committees would be held on time.
Rawat instructed cooperative officials to add two lakh new members to the 12 lakh members the committees already have.
The minister also asked officials to achieve a 100 per cent target under the One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme of Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (MPACS).
