Uttarakhand: Congress opposes shifting of co-op headquarters

Congress workers have strongly opposed the shifting of the cooperative headquarters in Almora to Dehradun in Uttarakhand, according to media reports.

They have demanded that the government should immediately withdraw its decision. They have also sent a memorandum through Additional DM to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

In the memorandum, Congress leaders said in the year 2001 the state government opened the cooperative headquarters in Almora as a consequence of the cabinet decision but the headquarters was being shifted on the order of a secretary in the state government.

One of the congress workers said it is unfair for the Kumaon region. They asked the state government to withdraw the decision immediately.
