Maharashtra-based Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC Bank) organized a special awareness programme on the topic “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Sugarcane Farming” in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Baramati, recently.
The event aimed to highlight the role of emerging technologies in modern agriculture, particularly in improving sugarcane cultivation practices.
The session was attended by several senior officials from PDCC Bank, including Chief Manager Sanjay Shitole and Deputy Managers Kadam, Mr. Hegde, and Jadhav. They emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting farmers not only through financial services but also by facilitating knowledge-sharing platforms that promote innovation.
Experts at the event explained how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used for monitoring crop health, predicting yields, optimizing irrigation, and reducing input costs. They also showcased real-time examples and success stories from pilot projects where AI applications led to measurable improvements in productivity and sustainability.
The programme received a positive response from local farmers and stakeholders, underlining the need for continued efforts to integrate technology into traditional farming methods for better outcomes.
