Farmers in Uttar Pradesh can now make payments via QR code at Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS). Cooperation Minister JPS Rathore launched the system at the UP State Co-operative Bank headquarters on Saturday, handing QR codes to secretaries of five PACS.
The facility will ease fertiliser, seed, and pesticide purchases, making transactions cashless and transparent. Rathore directed that QR payments begin immediately at all 6,800 active PACS.
He assured that urea supply is adequate and staffing gaps are being addressed. The government will extend financial aid of Rs 2 lakh for infrastructure to existing M-PACS and Rs 2 lakh each to 580 new ones.
Additionally, 1,900 dairy cooperatives have been linked to district banks, with plans for Bank Mitras and micro ATM services.
