In a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating cooperative development in Uttar Pradesh, the Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperatives Dr Heera Lal convened a high-level meeting with officials of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) at the corporation’s regional office in Lucknow.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Sanjay Kumar, Regional Director of NCDC, along with Deputy Directors Nagendra Kumar Singh and Ashutosh Shukla. The discussions focused on expanding the reach and impact of NCDC-supported schemes across the cooperative ecosystem in the state.

Sanjay Kumar provided a detailed presentation on the various schemes being run by NCDC to empower cooperative societies.

These included the Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) scheme for warehouse construction and repair, cold storage facilities, mini and oil processing units, and dal mills; PMFME for food processing; NBHM for honey processing; PMMSY for fisheries sector development; as well as initiatives under FPO and Yuva Sahakar, aimed at supporting newly established cooperative societies.

A special focus of the meeting was also on the upcoming International Year of Cooperatives 2025, with discussions on how NCDC and the state government can work together to make it a landmark year for the cooperative movement.
