Uttar Pradesh’s 23 cooperative sugar mills have paid Rs. 2,724.09 crore out of Rs. 2,730.59 crore owed to farmers for the 2024–25 crushing season, achieving 99.76% settlement of cane dues, reports Chinni Mandi.
Only Sathiaon Sugar Mill in Azamgarh remains in default, with an outstanding payment of around Rs. 6.5 crore. Central UP leads with Rs. 1,230 crore paid by 12 mills, followed by Rs. 1,120 crore from six western UP mills and Rs. 373.56 crore from five eastern UP mills.
Officials urged prompt clearance of remaining dues to support farmers’ cash flow. CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized linking procurement areas to payment records.
