Dr. Heera Lal, Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperatives, Uttar Pradesh, led a comprehensive review meeting in Kanpur Mandal last week.
The session included ADOs, ADCOs, Assistant Registrars, district managers from procurement agencies, and representatives from PCF, IFFCO, KRIBHCO, NABARD, and cooperative banks.
The focus was on auditing cooperative societies, fertilizer distribution, and procurement operations.
Dr. Lal conducted a field inspection at the Chaubepur wheat procurement center, identifying lapses in record-keeping and oversight. Consequently, ADO Pankaj Sahay and ADCO Sanjay Tiwari received adverse entries for negligence.
He also addressed delayed honorarium payments to staff and emphasized daily inspections by cooperative inspectors across 50 blocks.
The meeting underscored the importance of accountability and timely execution of cooperative initiatives.
