The UP State Election Commission has barred Chairmen and Vice-Chairman of cooperative societies from contesting elections for Gram Pradhans in the upcoming panchayat elections. The Commission has issued an order in this regard.
The Commission has also sought reports about chairmen and vice-chairman of cooperative societies from District Election Officers.
The dates of Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh have been announced. The spending limit has been fixed for candidates contesting the three-tier panchayat elections.
