ULCCS plans big time in dairy; looks for a CEO

The Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Limited (ULCCS Ltd.), a 95- year-old workers’ cooperative society which is the largest primary workers’ cooperative in Asia is in the process of filling the Chief Executive Officer’s post for its dairy venture.

Located in Kerala state, ULCCS Ltd. is launching an integrated dairy cold chain project to enhance the income of their members which involves collection of milk from its members, processing and marketing as milk and value-added milk products.

The backward integration will have animal husbandry by members supported by veterinary service and other inputs such as cattle feed, fodder development activity by the society. The milk will be procured and processed in a 1.0 LLPD capacity dairy plant located near Vadakara.

The incumbent shall be responsible for planning the procurement, processing, product manufacturing and marketing.

“The CEO shall plan the market survey, commission the dairy plant, ensure the quality of products and be well versed with the current legal compliances required by dairy plants”, says ULCCS in an advt.
