The Ministry of Cooperation has highlighted the expansion of doorstep banking services by Urban Cooperative Banks, aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and customer convenience. The initiative enables the general public to access essential banking services from the comfort of their homes.
In addition to basic services such as cash deposits, withdrawals, KYC updates, and demand drafts, banks are now offering facilities including delivery of cheque books and account statements, document pick-up, submission of 15G/15H forms, and issuance of life certificates for pensioners.
The move is expected to particularly benefit senior citizens and customers with mobility constraints, reducing the need for physical branch visits. The Ministry has urged people to contact their nearest Urban Cooperative Bank for availing these services.
The initiative aligns with the government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi,” promoting stronger, more accessible cooperative institutions across the country.
