Cooperatives continue to come forward to help the victims of Maharashtra Floods as many such news items of contribution towards the CM Relief Fund by UCBs are pouring in on the desk of Indian Cooperative.

Thane based Thane District Central Cooperative Bank has handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis last Saturday.

Earlier, Vasai Janata Sahakari Bank and Vasai Vikas Sahakari Bank contributed Rs 5-5 lakh each to the Fund. The Board of Directors of these UCBs personally handed over the cheque to CM.

It bears recall that goaded by the leading UCB Saraswat Bank into contributing Rs one crore to the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund, several UCBs have contributed so far.

According to media reports, flood fury in the state has been terrible this year with as many as 43 dying in floods and rain-related incidents in the state.
