Training Program on RBI circulars at ICM, Madurai

A three-day Short Duration Course (SDC) on “RBI / NABARD Circulars” for Managers and Officers of District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) commenced on Monday at the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Madurai.

The inaugural session was presided over by K. Sathia Kumar Sam Michael, Director, ICM Madurai, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the pivotal role of the Ministry of Cooperation in strengthening cooperative institutions nationwide.

He elaborated on key initiatives, including the New Cooperative Policy 2025, digitalisation support, governance reforms, financial inclusion measures, and enhanced refinance access through apex institutions.

Smt. G. Jeyanthi, Lecturer and Course Coordinator, presented an overview of the programme’s structure and objectives.

She stated that the course aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge of recent circulars issued by Reserve Bank of India and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, along with compliance requirements, risk management practices, and their practical implications for DCCBs and UCBs.
