A specialized training program on Know Your Customer (KYC) and NPA Management was successfully conducted for Urban Cooperative Bank (UCB) staff in Telangana. The program was organized in collaboration with the Cooperative Training Centre, Gunfoundry, Hyderabad, a unit of the Telangana Cooperative Union.

The training sessions were led by Hanumanta Rao, Retired Banker, who provided in-depth insights into the importance of KYC, its regular updates, and the significance of Central KYC (C-KYC).

He covered key topics such as Customer Acceptance Policy, which outlines guidelines for onboarding customers, risk assessment, and required documentation. The Customer Identification Procedure (CIP) was also discussed, emphasizing the verification of customer identity through both documentary and non-documentary methods.

Additionally, the session highlighted the importance of Monitoring Account Activity, ensuring vigilance against suspicious transactions through regular checks. Lastly, Risk Management was addressed, focusing on assessing customer risk profiles to implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.

A total of 26 staff members from UCBs across Telangana participated in the training.

The program was efficiently coordinated with the support of Smt. K V S Annapurna, MD/Joint Registrar, Sri B Venkanna Garu, Principal, and Smt. Sangita Garu, Faculty of the Cooperative Training Centre. Their contributions ensured the smooth execution of the training, making it a grand success.
