Training fish farmers: NCDC joins hands with Uttarakhand govt
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

National Cooperative Development Corporation organized a one-day awareness camp on the “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana” in collaboration with Uttarakhand Fisheries Department at Manglaur, Haridwar on Saturday last week.

On the occasion Uttarakhand Minister Rekha Arya and scores of farmers were present. Kisan Credit Cards were distributed among the fish farmers.

Sharing the details through her Facebook wall, Arya wrote, “On the occasion, we made everyone aware that in 2020-21, the corona epidemic could not affect the fisheries sector. Separation of fisheries and animal husbandry department from agriculture shows its importance. With this, our government has done the work of giving equal preference to agriculture farmers and fish farmers”.

“Insurance is being started for trout farming in hilly areas and this insurance will also be started in plain areas in the next few years”, she further wrote.

Arya also took stock of the situation of the pond of residents in Sherpur of Jhabrera assembly constituency.
