AIADMK and TTV Dhinakaran supporters violently clashed in districts referred to as the delta districts in Tamil Nadu over filing nominations for the first phase of the cooperative societies’ election, reports Times of India.
In Thanjavur, cadres of the both parties staged a protest against the officials who did not turn up at their office to distribute the nomination papers. However, supporters of Dhinakaran alleged that the government officials were favoring the ruling party.
The election of Thendral Nagar Cooperative Housing Society in Trichy had to be postponed as AIADMK and TTV’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam workers got into a fight.
There are reports of widespread violence in the delta districts in Tamil Nadu causing damage to the government properties and offices.
