TN: 5000 PACS come to standstill

Employees of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks in Madurai and Theni districts in Tamil Nadu have held a demonstration complaining all banking activities in PACBs have come to a standstill due to demonetisation, reports Times of India.

Employees say all 4654 PACBs in Tamil Nadu are not able to carry out any services to the beneficiaries of PACBs.

Unable to render any services or answer the queries of anxious farmers, all PACBs were closed for a day and their keys handed over to cooperative registrars.

Cooperative workers have urged the government to announce closing all PACBs till new currencies are made available.
