The Trinamool Congress (TMC) secured a major win in the Bajkul agricultural cooperative election under Bhagwanpur Block II, East Midnapore, clinching 22 of 43 seats.
Despite a strong campaign by BJP leaders, the result favored the ruling party, energizing cadres ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls. Voter turnout was high, with 967 out of 1,040 casting ballots amid tight security.
TMC had earlier swept cooperative polls in Mahishadal and Kultali Bhubankhali, where it won all nine seats uncontested, reflecting its continued dominance in Bengal’s rural cooperative landscape.
